YOUTH STARTUP ACADEMY (YSAU) COHORT 2 KICKS OFF
The Youth Startup Academy (YSAU) kicks off its COHORT 2 Bootcamp this week on Monday 13th March 2023 at HIVE COLAB located on 4th floor, Kanjokya House plot 90 on Kanjokya Street in Kampala. The program aims to incubate over 1,000 young entrepreneurs and enhance the start-up ecosystem in Uganda to increase youth employment and boost youth-led businesses. Through the program, young people in Uganda are equipped with relevant skills and resources to enable them to create and grow innovative and globally competitive enterprises.
The program provides a range of services such as access to manufacturing and maker space, access to mobile Apps Testing, access to co-working space, access to expert Coaches (local and international experts), exposure to international Markets, access to investors, mentors and coaches to help young entrepreneurs turn their ideas into successful businesses. By promoting youth-led entrepreneurship, the program seeks to address the high levels of youth unemployment in Uganda and contribute to the development of a more prosperous and innovative economy.
The Youth Startup Academy Uganda aims to help young people in Uganda leverage the power of technology to create innovative solutions to local and global challenges. By supporting the birth of innovative enterprises, the program seeks to contribute to the development of a vibrant and globally competitive startup ecosystem in Uganda.
The Youth Startup Academy Uganda is an initiative of the International Trade Centre (ITC) and Korean SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) implemented by HIVE COLAB with Support from National Information Technology Authority Uganda (NITA-U), Ministry of ICT and National Guidance and Korea's Official Development Assistance (ODA)
The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint agency of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations (UN) that is dedicated to promoting inclusive and sustainable economic development through trade. The ITC is a key sponsor of the Youth Startup Academy Uganda providing support for training, mentorship, and networking activities that help young entrepreneurs in Uganda develop the skills and resources they need to succeed in the global marketplace.
KOSME is a government agency in South Korea that is dedicated to promoting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the country. KOSME is also a key sponsor of the Youth Startup Academy Uganda, providing funding and support for activities that promote tech-driven entrepreneurship and job creation among young people in Uganda.
HIVE COLAB is an open, community-owned, co-working hub and startup incubator for young entrepreneurs" based in Uganda that is committed to supporting the growth of the local tech ecosystem. HIVE COLAB is the Key Local Implementing Partner for the Youth Startup Academy in Uganda whose aim is to provide mentorship, training and networking opportunities for young entrepreneurs in the program.
NITA Uganda is a government agency in Uganda that is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the country's national information technology policy. NITA Uganda is a key sponsor of the Youth Startup Academy Uganda, providing support for training and capacity building activities that help young people in Uganda develop the skills they need to succeed in the tech industry.
Finally, Korea Official Development Assistance is a government agency in South Korea that is responsible for providing development assistance to countries around the world. Korea Official Development Assistance is a key sponsor of the Youth Startup Academy Uganda, providing funding and support for activities that promote job creation and economic development in Uganda.
Overall, Youth Startup Academy Uganda is an important Initiative that is promoting youth-led entrepreneurship and generating job opportunities for young people in Uganda.
